Summary

Although many people often assume that faith and ethics are similar, a thin line differentiates the two concepts. Faith and ethics perceptions correlate in that they seek to identify and differentiate between right and wrong decisions. Practically, faith and ethics serve as decision-making tools that assist humans in resolving different moral dilemmas such as virtue and vice, good and evil, and indiscretion and integrity (Bellisario, n.d). Overall, ethics and faith help humans choose decisions that allow harmonious coexistence.

Components of Christian Morality

Biblical concepts outlined in scriptures inspire Christian morality by helping individuals choose between right and wrong decisions. According to Bellisario (n.d), Christian morality posits to offer salvation and enlightenment. Besides, morality legislates public conduct that enhances harmony among individuals based on independent Biblical stories and conscience (Bellisario, n.d). Christian morality aims to convert more believers into the religion and encourages Christians to hone their conscience to assist them to reach reasonable decisions.

Charles Stanley’s Biblical Perspective Relevance in Healthcare Administration

Charles Stanley’s Biblical insight is relevant in the medical field. Stanley argues that God gives humans a universal gift – moral conscience. In turn, the conscience helps individuals choose between right and wrong actions. The conscience also encourages Christians to choose the right moves and creates guilt sentiment when individuals select immoral paths (Stanley, 2018). Stanley’s hypothesis that conscience guides morality is relevant in healthcare administration since doctors require a moral urge to ensure they offer reliable treatment and advice to their patients. For example, a conscience-driven doctor avoids misleading pregnant mothers to deliver through C-section if they can give birth normally. Some doctors prefer C-section to vaginal delivery because it generates a higher income for a hospital and the medical experts in charge. Although the Christian faith emphasizes that God heals all diseases, my religious conscience will not influence me to advise clients to skip medication and wait for God to heal them. I believe that a patient has to take medication and pray to God for healing.
